Sack Attack’s Guide To A-League Bandwagoning [Pt 1]

The A-League season is fast approaching and new fan interest in football is picking up. But what if you haven’t decided which team to support this season? Here at Sack Attack we love hopping on the bandwagon – so here’s a little guidance on which A-League wagon will best suit you.

Adelaide United
“Que?”

With new Spanish coach Josep Gombau bringing his brand of Barcelona football down under, you too can champion the beautiful game! Amaze your friends with your blatant disregard for any other way of playing football. Be unable to describe tiki-taka in any shape or form besides variants of ‘ball on ground and a lot of possession’. Where even is Adelaide? Who cares! They play the beautiful game and as they say in Spain, ‘Joga Bonito’!

Brisbane Roar
“I wish you could’ve seen it, bro.”

Do you enjoy pretending you were there? Were you there for the Manchester United’s treble, Arsenal’s invincibles AND for Manchester City’s last minute league win over Manchester United? With Brisbane Roar, you too can pretend you were there! Tell all your friends how you were there during Brisbane Roar’s record breaking undefeated streak and how you were there during THAT final without even knowing who Brisbane were playing against!

Central Coast Mariners
“We’re just a feeder club selling all our talent!”

They’re the reigning champions! What more do you need, bandwagoner? Angst! You’ve had a lot of built up angst because of all those near-championship misses you were apparently present for. Now you have a lot of angst because all your championship winning players are leaving! Go to a game and rattle on about how you aren’t as good of a side anymore without Matty Ibini and Patrick Van Swanswick!

Melbourne Heart
“We’ll sit on those green chairs and by golly we’ll love it!”

Are you a teenager struggling to define yourself? Do you hate that guy who sits next to you in class? He’s alot more successful and popular than you, but be damned if you don’t make a fuss about how you’re every bit as cool as him! Be the type of bandwagoner that clutches at straws and claims small insignificant victories with Melbourne Heart today!

Melbourne Victory

Do you want to be a bandwagoner that doesn’t want to look like a bandwagoner? Hop on the wheels of a club that everybody respects, and you too will be respected! You don’t even need to go to a game, plenty of other people will do that for you. Dazzle your workmates with your knowledge of Arnold Thompson – he scored 19 goals against New Caledonia, a world record for conversions in a local soccer game!
