Well, the start of another W-League season is on our doorstep yet again. The 10th season and personally I think it will be the best one yet.

Again, there are plenty of exciting talents in the league this season, its impossible to go past Sam Kerr right now as she takes women’s football to new heights. There are quality internationals in every squad this year and some very exciting young players coming through the ranks of each team.

After seeing the player signings across the league I think its fair to say that every club has recruited very well and on any given match day any team could win. At this point in time I think Melbourne City yet again will be the team to beat, but I think it will be very close this year!

Preparing for my 6th season with Sydney FC has been my favorite one yet. We have a fresh refurbished team under new coaching staff.

Ante Juric has taken over this season and recruited very talented players and great people to add to the core group of girls that have been at Sydney for many years now. He has instilled a real sense belief in the group and a very positive style of play that everyone is buying into.

This season we have a very balanced mix of youth and experience. Stealing Caitlin Cooper from our rivals Western Sydney Wanderers was a big signing especially after losing Alanna Kennedy this season. Cait has already been excellent for us all pre-season and brings a lot of leadership and experience to our team and is as solid as they come at the back.

Obviously a big signing was Lisa De Vanna who again like Caitlin brings so much experience. She is passionate and wants to win at all costs which I am sure will get us over the line many times this year.

Bringing Chloe Logarzo back home to Sydney is a real positive for the team; she will be a real asset for us all season. We have also welcomed back a blast from the past in Kylie Ledbrook who is looking fantastic after the addition of two little ones in her family.

Our international Emily Sonnett arrived this week and looks quality. I think she will be very exciting and very important for our team this season.

Of course we also have Teresa our captain, Leena who is going into her 10th season with the club and wants a trophy more than ever, Liz, Sham, Georgia, Rach, Teigs coming back to Sydney FC again, Emma Rolston; our kiwi, our four Young Matildas; Remy, Princess, Ally, Taylor and our two U17s Matildas Angelique & Julia.

I really can’t wait to see this team play!

As for me, I couldn’t be more excited for this season. It’s been a little while since I’ve finished a pre-season and prepared for Round 1.

After tearing my ACL, MCL & Meniscus in December 2015, injuries have come and gone more than I would have liked but for the first time in a long time I’m feeling confident in my body. I am more excited than anything and I can’t wait for Friday to come!

I can’t wait for the 10th W-League season to start and I can’t wait to play with this team. A tough game first up VS Brisbane Roar but I have so much belief in this group…

It all starts on Friday night.
