Brisbane Roar have won just their third home game of the season on Saturday night defeating Adelaide United 1-0.

Both sides started slowly but chances were still aplenty in the early stages at Suncorp Stadium.

Brisbane’s Massimo Maccarone was on hand for three of those gilt-edged opportunities from close range but on every occasion was not able to capitalise for the Roar in a forgetful match for the Italian veteran.

Brisbane however did eventually take the lead late in the first half courtesy of a magnificent Eric Bautheac free-kick strike from just outside the box.

Jamie Young once again came up big for Brisbane saving a one-on-one with Nikola Mileusnic who should’ve done better.

Both clubs tired in the Brisbane humidity resulting in plenty of space.

Another goal was however not to be despite a lot of chances falling in the dying moments to Corey Gameiro.

Brisbane enjoys a fortnight break until they travel to Sydney FC for their next A-League action.

Adelaide also get the chance to relish the fortnight break as they look to strengthen their finals spot at home against Melbourne City.
