Melbourne City head coach Warren Joyce has reaffirmed his commitment to the club after being linked with a return to Manchester United.

Joyce did not answer any questions from Fox Sports in relation to a potential return to the UK after Round 23’s loss to the Western Sydney Wanderers.

His contract, like many of the players, finishes at the end of the season and believes while this has been hanging over the heads of many of the players, way to earn contracts in football is through success.

“My concern or my snap last week was when the word commitment was mentioned and I’ve come out here committed to a cause that people have asked me to join in with,” Joyce said.

“At the moment it’s difficult for the players because there’s a lot of contracts up.

“It’s difficult for myself because mine is as well but the only way you get another contract in football is if you’re successful.

“We’re all in it together for the same objective to do as well as we can to try and win something as a group.

“I certainly think I’ve shown commitment to work and try and do the things they asked me to do.”
