The Brisbane Roar equalized with a stunning header from Mitch Nichols in the 61st minute to draw 1 -1 with Perth Glory at Suncorp Stadium tonight.
Replacement Henrique made an immediate impact on the match, skirting defenders down the left hand flank.
His pace was evident as too his ability to shake defenders.
His perfectly weighted cross was the icing on the cake for Mitch Nichols, who had a busy match.
Nichols continued to make an impression throughout the evening but no more so than his header, which sprung life into the shaky Roar.
The Roar came into the match as raging hot favourites, however they seemed to be lacking the same intensity as the experienced Glory.
In the 31st minute, Mile Sterjovski sealed the deal on the end of a beautiful Robbie Fowler shimmy in which he held up defenders before laying the ball back to a surgical Sterjovski.
The Roar continued to press but looked almost too clinical in their execution, complicating their attack rather than keeping things simple.
Once again Ange Postecoglou revved his troops up at half time and injected fresh legs at crucial times which seemed to break down the Perth defence perfectly.
Matt McKay’s absence was noted, particularly in the first half as the Roar had a complacent aura about their play.
