The sky is blue in Sydney tonight

-

Sydney FC have picked up their first points of the Hyundai A-League season with a hard fought 1-0 win over cross town rivals Western Sydney Wanderers in the initial Sydney derby at Parramatta Stadium.

An Alessandro Del Piero goal (after following up his saved penalty which was following up from his initial penalty that had made to be retaken) was all that was needed for the city of Sydney to turn Sky Blue after the Italian was bought down inside the box in the 54th minute.

Western Sydney are now three games into their A-League journey but are yet to register a goal with a tough task next week – the reigning premiers Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium.
