VPL Preliminary Final: Cavaliers will trounce Thunder

-

This weekend Green Gully Cavaliers take on Dandenong Thunder in a monstrous Victorian Premier League Preliminary Final on Saturday 3pm at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex.

Read the Dandenong Thunder preview here.

These two teams met only four weeks ago with Dandenong Thunder coming out 3-0 winners in the penultimate round of the season

Last Week:
Green Gully got over the line against Northcote City 3-1 in the Minor Semi Final at Green Gully Reserve.
The Goals came from Osagie Ederaro, Mathew Sanders and Jason Hayne.

This Week:

A win for either side will see them play off in the Grand Final next week against Oakleigh Cannons at AAMI Park following the Melbourne Heart v Wellington Phoenix A-League match.

Why Green Gully will beat Dandenong Thunder:

This is a clash worthy of a Grand Final itself. Dandenong have been the best side all year and are looking for a treble of State Knockout Cup, Minor Premiership and VPL title. Green Gully though are after three titles in a row. We’ve said it all through the finals series; Green Gully have the know-how to win these finals games. Dandenong will be terrified at the prospect of finishing top and going out in straight sets.

Why Green Gully won’t beat Dandenong Thunder:
Dandenong have been the best side all year. No doubt. They deserve a shot at the title and have the weapons up front to put Green Gully away when it counts.

Player to Watch:
Brian Vanega; he’s crafty in and around the box and could be the wildcard.

Prediction:

Green Gully 2-1 Dandenong Thunder
