The Red Army prepare for United’s face-off against the Glory |
Adelaide United have ensured their Remembrance Day clash with Perth Glory will live long in the memory after battling back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw to stay firmly planted near the top of the Hyundai A-League ladder.
After the Reds’ stellar start to the 2012/13 season, John Kosmina may have to borrow the pre-match bugle in order to toot his own horn as a second-half shuffle saw his side claw their way back into the match.
The Glory found their opener in the 43rd minute with Perth firing in what looked like simple training-ground exercise. Liam Miller worked the ball out wide to Heffernan whose ball across the face was put away simply by striker Billy Mehmet.
After toiling away for much of the first half the Reds found their equaliser after the break through Dario Vidosic. After being snubbed by Socceroos coach Holger Osieck midweek, the attacking midfielder latched on to a piece of Carrusca magic and slid the ball past Vukovic at his near post.
