Sack Attack’s Guide To A-League Bandwagoning [Pt 2]

-

The A-League season is finally here and new fan interest in football is at a peak. But what if you haven’t decided which team to support this season? Here at Sack Attack we love hopping on the bandwagon – so here’s a little guidance on which A-League wagon will best suit you.

Newcastle Jets
“They’ll love me if I caption this picture!”

The Hunter Valley has a superstar. Not just any superstar, a superstar of the internet! Be one of those bandwagoners who repeats old Heskey worship jokes and repeatedly posts Heskey memes on social media all day. Ignore the fact that you’re astoundingly late to the party and beat a dead horse today by supporting Emile Heskey and the Newcastle Jets!

Perth Glory
“Guess it’s time to get that insurance.”

Do you enjoy harping on about the good old glory days as much as Liverpool fans do? Consider jumping on the Perth Glory bandwagon! Dazzle your mates with old and irrelevant statistics. Bewilder your family members by going on passionate tirades that start with the words, ‘back in the day’. You’re probably not old enough to remember the old days anyway and you’ve never been further west than Melbourne, but who cares!

Sydney FC
“I bet half of these people wouldn’t remember Salazar.”

If you were a true bandwagoner you would’ve gotten on the Del Piero FC bandwagon last season silly! Why not be the bandwagoner that is annoyed at other bandwagoners? Scoff at the increased crowd sizes and boldly declare that you were a fan before the Del Piero bandwagon happened! Nevermind that you’ve never been to a game and continue with your claim that you’re a true supporter. Impress your colleagues with obscure namedrops like, ‘Patrick’ and ‘Michael Enfield’. Look down on your fellow bandwagoners with Sydney FC today!

Wellington Phoenix

“Why take a taxi when you can hitch?”

Are you a fan of travel? Need to stack those frequent flyer points? Consider getting on the Wellington wagon! With plenty of fun airplane riding, supporting Wellington is a travellers dream. Be the talk of the office with your knowledge of the Phoenix frontline of Jermaine, Bret and Frodo! Bear the brunt of overused Kiwi jokes! Be confused, mostly forgotten and stranded at an airport with the Wellington Phoenix!

Western Sydney Wanderers

“Who do we yell for? We yell for Wanderses!”

Want to show off to your friends about how much of a real fan you are? Why not join one of the most passionate fanbases in the league! Be the person who sits down in the active support bay and complains about the noise! Color your cubicle in red and black, proudly pointing at your AC Milan jersey while yelling about how much of a Western Sydney fan you are. Ever been to Parramatta? Nope? You’ve been to Chatswood and that’s close enough! Ride on the newest A-League wagon with the Western Sydney Wanderers!
