This is what will happen in the upcoming round of the Hyundai A-League. The most accurate of predictions you’ll come across on the internet. Just don’t bet the house on it.
Adelaide United vs Sydney FC
Coopers Stadium will light up on Friday night as these two faceoff in what will be a fascinating encounter. The Reds finally recorded their first league victory last week and would love to make it two on the trot. Confidence and morale will be at a season high for the Reds improving their chances of victory. Sydney recorded a 1-0 win last week keeping them in third position. Sydney however are struggling to score at present but certainly aren’t conceding any either.
Prediction: 0-0
Chances will be rare as both sides take a more cautious approach.
Brisbane Roar vs Wellington Phoenix
Brisbane will be disappointed with last week but should back themselves to return to winning ways in front of their home fans. Their opponents Wellington were outstanding last week in their win over Victory, displaying some scintillating football. The Nix will be highly competitive but will struggle to take the three points in this clash.
Prediction: 2-1
Brisbane to win and continue peppering at the top
Western Sydney vs Melbourne Victory
Has the hallmark of being an absolute belter of a match. The Wanderers have been super impressive this campaign, currently occupying top with victory in their past six games. That record will be tested when they welcome an agitated Melbourne still furious from last week’s defeat. Fans can expect an attacking game of football in which goals will feature.
Prediction: 2-2
This game will end in an entertaining draw.
Perth Glory vs Central Coast Mariners
Despite their lowly ladder positions this still looks to be an interesting clash. Both sides will look to attack leaving plenty of space for the opposition to counter. Seeing as frustration levels are at an all-time high for both, the team that displays the most composure will taste victory.
Prediction: 3-1
Perth to end their rut in front of a highly relieved home crowd
Newcastle Jets vs Melbourne City
Two teams with varying form at present. The Jets haven’t won since Round Four while high flying Melbourne City have scored ten goals in their last two games. On paper City seem the obvious pick but football games aren’t decided on paper. Despite their winless rut the Jets have remained competitive, especially at home. Expect them to put up an excellent showing in this encounter.
Prediction: 1-1
Both teams to have opportunities to win it but a draw the fair result
