Not convincing but we’ll take it, says Amor

Adelaide United’s unbeaten run extended to nine games on Sunday following a 1-0 victory over Newcastle Jets.

Although the clash never reached any dazzling heights, Adelaide coach Guillermo Amor was pleased that his side still recorded the three points.

“It is good when you win, so right now I am happy.

“Today the game was very difficult for us and we did not play as well as we could have.

“When this happens, the most important thing is that you win the game.

“We did that which means we are now in a better position”.

While Adelaide certainly didn’t produce their best football, Newcastle played some excellent football themselves which made it difficult for the home side.

“Newcastle played very well today.

“They displayed great character and this made it tough for us.

“They were unlucky not to go ahead but this is football”.

With a mouthwatering clash coming up with Sydney FC, Adelaide United has the opportunity to jump the Sky Blues should they defeat them this Friday.

This certainly has Amor and the squad excited who are eager for this blockbuster to get underway.

“I think everyone is looking forward to getting out there and playing in that game.

“It is a big opportunity for us to continue on.

“Sydney and Melbourne both lost and we won so it ensures a big clash”.
