Lo and behold, a new Socceroos kit was freshly unveiled in the last couple of days. To the shock and horror of all involved, public backlash was widespread and people took to social media to vent their ideas of what would be a better outfit for the ‘Caltex Petroleum Australia Pty. Ltd. Soccerfootballerguys ©’.
The main argument for all those outraged was the apparent first degree fashion murder committed by having gold shorts with a gold shirt and not a hint of green on either. It’s in truth a good omen; wearing gold guarantees the gold of first place or a FIFA World Cup trophy.
Regardless, social media saw the proverbial fuse lit and fans took to both Twitter to make sure their opinion was heard. Here are follow some of the best, most frustrated, and just generally gold opinions.

If there’s chants of “who do we sing for- yellow” or “yellow submarine” in response to that kit, I’m done #socceroos #yellowshortsout

Australia’s collective social media was not overly impressed by the change. However, some more informed members of the footballing community began waffling on about how it was due to FIFA regulations.
But who listens to FIFA anymore?
