Yoshi Poll – Who will he pick?

-

With the unveiling of the Hyundai A-League’s slightly less than traditional advertising campaign this week, 10-year old Yoshi is on a quest to find his team.

Following the A-League’s mantra of ‘You’ve Gotta Have a Team’, Yoshi has been touring the various A-League sides as they try to convince him why they should win his support.

And how did they fare?

Well as it stands currently, the Central Coast Mariners lead the voting for Yoshi’s team with over a third of those polled saying he should choose the team from the east.

As far ahead as they are, one might liken the gamble of Yoshi hoping for a good season with the Mariners to playing one of those pattern arcade games where you can win an iPad, something a little more traditional, or playing Royal Vegas casino slots on your computer. – hey, they do have football themed video slots that you are sure to enjoy (gamble responsibly you naughty so & sos).

Narrowly second with 14% of the vote sit the Wanderers, whose supporters rate up there as arguably some of the most passionate in the league. But if Yoshi wants to avoid intense media scrutiny and extra attention at matches, it might be wise to stray away from the Wanderers!

And rounding out the top three sit the Wanderers’ neighbours, Sydney FC, as they look to draw Yoshi back into the inner-city with the delightful hum of traffic jams and the aroma of expensive coffee. Yoshi may well be drawn by the notion that #SydneyisSkyBlue, which sounds much more enticing than Red & Black; but what do I know.

Maybe Yoshi will be given until after the first round of matches to make his judgement, in which case his pick may be slightly more refined. But if not, and he chooses to follow the public lead, well, I guess good luck to you, Yoshi.

And you can even encourage Yoshi in his quest here.
