A crushing 4-0 loss is hardly the 21st treatment you would hope for.
It was a unique day to say the least!
In the game we had a lot of chances and not putting them away was our downfall.
On the other hand Melbourne basically had four chances and executed them all.
Ivan picked out all our opportunities in the video analysis and let’s be honest, there were a lot. We could’ve won the game and it was disappointing that we couldn’t convert.
It wasn’t the way I wanted to celebrate but a few girls as well as the coaching staff took me out to celebrate a little bit, so it ended up alright.
Everyone was down a bit but we went out and livened the mood up a bit.
I hang out with everyone in the team and see myself as close with all of the girls, so we’ll hang out and do things like grabbing a coffee after a gym session and the sort.
Sometimes I’ll take the Americans out and around.
We went to Second Valley on Monday and we’ve been strawberry picking and to wineries, so we just do a lot together and mix it up between all the girls.
Being able to go out and take them to places – some of which I haven’t even been myself – is something I really enjoy.
Danny [Colaprico] and Katie [Naughton] actually went to Second Valley last year and I hadn’t even been yet. So they took me there and honestly with the crystal clear water and white sand it felt like I was in Santorini.
Getting to explore is another great part of being a close-knit team. It’s important to be friends with the whole group.
Not necessarily the best of friends, but getting along and doing stuff together builds that cohesion and then that cohesion leads to better performances on the field.
The more things you do as a group the better the team will be.
I know it’s been said but I don’t think inexperience is the reason the results aren’t on the board yet.
Our team has quality all over the park. We have a strong team and we’re very solid but we just haven’t executed in front of goals.
And of course that’s what we will work on this week and hopefully the next six will be different.
The first half of the season is done. It’s the second half now so we start afresh and stick together, have a goal as a team and finish off strong.
We’ll dominate most of the games and we know that.
If we win all six we get into finals – no doubt.
This Friday night you’ll see a side with more grunt.
As a team we want to finish on a high and finish strong. We obviously want to win this time around against the Wanderers
The girls will do everything we can to win this game because honestly that is the missing ingredient.
It’s a results-driven game and we play decent football. But when all is said and done we have to win.
So now we have to be ruthless finish our chances and achieve what everyone plans to do; win games of football.
