Adelaide United again bossed the possession and shot count in their 2-1 defeat to Canberra United and head coach, Karlovic, reiterated the same message post-game.

’’If you don’t take your opportunities you don’t win games of football and it was another case of that today,” he said.

’’I think we’re playing good football as you can see. It’s now a case of finding that confidence in front of goal and when you’re missing more often than not you start to lose confidence.”

With only seven games remaining, Karlovic recognises that time is running out to move up the league table but preferred to focus on one game at a time.

’’We have to get on a roll. Were still scoring, we scored one today and two last week but with the opportunities we are creating, we should have more.

’’Today we had one cleared off the line and when that happens, there’s not much as a coach you can do about it.’’

It doesn’t get any easier for the Reds as they take on Sydney FC in their next match but Karlovic believes his side can cause an upset.

’’We played Sydney two or three weeks ago and we should have won that game.

’’We will go into the game with confidence because of that but again, we have to put away our chances. I’m sure we will have plenty of them, we just have to make them count.’’

Adelaide is rock bottom of the W-League and needs to start accumulating points to reach their target of finals football.
