Travelling fair distances for away games can take its toll on A-League players but which teams can put the fatigue to the side and play like they are at home.
Unlike many other football leagues across the world A-League sides are forced to travel many kilometres to take on an opponent, including international travel.
The graph below shows the away win percentage for all participating teams throughout their history (excluding Western United, who have only played three away fixtures).
* Has played under 100 away fixtures
Sydney FC have the greatest win percentage with 40 per cent from 190 away games. That is 76 wins all up since the 2005/06 season. It is worth noting the Sky Blues have three intrastate rivals which reduces their travel.

Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar closely followed with Brisbane playing 195 away games since the competition started, which is the most out of any other current A-League club.
Out of all the teams in the data shown it’s Wellington Phoenix who have the worst win percentage with 22.56 per cent, which is unsurprising considering the squad has to travel to Australia every away fixture.
Another graph shows the goals scored by each club on their travels.
The statistics from this data shows that again, Sydney lead the way with the most goals. With 281 goals scored from 190 games, that leaves an average 1.16 goals per away game.

Victory and Roar are both second and third in this tally again, with the Melbourne outfit scoring 270 goals on the road while Brisbane has netted 268.
It’s the Sky Blues cross city rivals, Western Sydney Wanderers who have scored the least amount of goals on their travels but have played the least amount of games between the other nine teams.
Sydney FC are the best side on the road as they have the largest away win percentage and have scored the most goals on their travels in the past 15 years of the A-League.
The Roar and Victory are not too far behind their New South Wales rival. The data shows how strong these three teams have been over the competition’s history, with all of them having won at least three championships each.
