Amy Jackson shines in milestone performance

Amy Jackson marked her record-breaking appearance for Melbourne Victory with a 1-1 draw against Canberra United.

This match marked the 67th time the midfielder lined up in Victory colours – most of any other player.

Head coach Jeff Hopkins was extremely proud of the 33-year-old’s accomplishment.

“I’m really pleased for her; she embodies everything we’re all about.

“She’s a hardworking player, she gives everything to the team and she’s a good quality player as well.”

Despite a slightly underwhelming result by the squad, Jackson marked the occasion with yet another outstanding performance. This was recognised by the coach who was full of praise for the player.

“I thought today her performance was best on ground for us, she gave us something we needed today,” said Hopkins.

It also served as another reminder that the Victory star still has her best years ahead of her, which Hopkins hopes will be in his team’s colours.

“She’s playing on the top of her game now; she’s playing as well as I’ve seen her play.

I can’t see why I would not want to keep her here,” summed up the coach.

Jackson will be back in action on Thursday night, as Victory take on the Western Sydney Wanderers at Lakeside Stadium.
