The Bulls were pushing down the right-hand flank with Ivan Franjic trying to cross the ball into the box but it was well covered by United defender Noah Smith.

Franjic this time had a chance to score from a corner kick, but his header went straight into the hands of James Delianov in the 16th minute.

A terrific run from youngster Jake Hollman from inside his own half found himself in an awkward position in front of the goal and was not able to hit the target in the 32nd minute.

The closest chance in the first-half came when Derbyshire went around the goalkeeper to shoot, only to have his shot cleared off the line by Smith in the 37th minute.

The Bulls had another great opportunity when Benat Etxebarria set himself up outside the box but his shot went inches over the frame of the goal in the 43rd minute.

A crucial save from Delianov came moments after which denied Macarthur a chance to take the lead before half -time.

United found it difficult to create chances against a stubborn Macathur defence.
