Bulls stay focused ahead of top table clash

-

Macarthur FC and the Central Coast Mariners will face off in a top of the table clash.

The Bulls defeated their rivals Sydney FC 1-0 at Jubilee Stadium in their previous match.

However, Ante Milicic believes their game against the Mariners will be just as difficult.

“Beating Sydney FC away from home gives any team confidence, so we get a lot from that performance and the three points,” he said.

“But we know now we have another difficult game on the road so it’s important for us to play to our strengths and we know that we’re a good footballing side.

“If we can execute on the day we’ve a good chance of getting a decent result.”

Milicic is aware the Mariners have been in good form this season and are full of confidence.

“They play a certain way and they’re very good at playing it,” he said.

“They’re a very confident side, very fit side and they’re getting good results both home and away, so we know it’s going to be a difficult game for us.”

However, he believes his side is up for the challenge and has the potential to be competitive.

“But as always we analyse the opposition but we have a strong focus on what we can do and we believe that if we can play up to our potential then we’ve got a good chance of being very competitive come Monday night,” Milicic said.

Nineteen-year-old Alou Kuol has been impactful off the bench for the Mariners this season, but Milicic said they had enough players to create goal-scoring threats.

“His been excellent for them. Doesn’t start as often as he probably would like being a goal scorer, but they’ve got a lot of threats particularly with set-pieces,” he said.

“When you look at Urena who’s come in, Matt Simon, Kuol’s done excellent for them and they’ve got a lot of different goal threats which makes them such a dangerous side.

“We’re aware of that, we’ve analysed that and it’s just up to us on the day to execute our defensive roles on these players.”
