Macarthur FC’s coach Ante Milicic was disappointed in Friday night’s performance against Brisbane Roar after losing 2-0.
The Bulls struggled to get past a stubborn Brisbane side and, despite a consolation goal through Lachlan Rose, failed to turn the game around.
“Pretty disappointing to be honest,” said Milicic.
“I thought we had decent possession but never really threaten as much as I would of liked, would of hoped
“We weren’t disciplined in our possessing when we had the ball, I think that was a huge problem, plus the fact that there was way too much transition, particularly in the first half
“I think that’s the most we’ve had in 45 minutes for a while we just couldn’t keep that first pass out of pressure.”
“So in the end, we didn’t deserve anything from the game.”
The Macarthur coach touched on how his team did not have the tactical adjustment that was required to face the Roar.
“The positioning wasn’t where it needed to be. We weren’t disciplined in our positioning when we had the ball and that that’s been a strong point of ours in recent weeks but today it wasn’t the case.”
“In the end when we don’t’ play within our structures against a side that’s well drilled and disciplined and waited for us to lose the ball in those areas and then the speed that they had in transition and we got done a couple of times, 2v2, 3v3”
“So as I said our tactical adjustments weren’t where they needed to be today,” he said.
Brisbane had a strong game plan against the Bulls, however, Milicic wants to start focusing in their next game against Adelaide United.
“Brisbane had a good strong game plan and once they went 1-0 up it made it difficult for us”
“So in the end as I said we didn’t deserve anything from the game but we’ve got to quickly regroup and shift our focus to Adelaide.”
