TikTok has taken the world by storm in the last few years, as the social media platform comprises of creative short-form video content usually accompanied by popular songs.
As we head towards the finals in the 2020/21 A-League season, we have summed up every side’s season with a TikTok video.
Brisbane Roar
Brisbane Roar have leapfrogged their way into another finals series after big home victories in recent weeks against Premiers’ Melbourne City and the desperate Perth Glory.
They are hitting their straps at the right time of the season and it could be the year that Warren Moon’s boys reclaim the title that they have won three times previously.
@espn SMOOTH 🔥😳
Western Sydney Wanderers
It’s like groundhog day for Western Sydney Wanderers, who will end another A-League season in the bottom half of the ladder.
The Wanderers have now missed finals for a fourth consecutive season.
@thekylereed
Sydney FC
Sydney FC have had a quiet season despite still being one of the best sides in the competition. They are just so professional in the way they go about their football.
Other teams will want to avoid the Sky Blues come finals, it would not be a surprise if we see them win three Championships in a row.
@harvey I miss the old TikTok 😢 Hopefully this can revive my account whilst you read my bio 🙂
Melbourne City
Melbourne City have been the best side so far this season. They are out to prove a point after the heartbreaking loss to Sydney FC in last year’s grand final.
The whole side has played freakishly good football, including their striker Jamie Maclaren who has contributed 25 goals in 24 matches. He simply can not miss!
@espn
Melbourne Victory
Melbourne Victory used to be an absolute powerhouse club come finals time, they have finished premiers the most times out of any clubs (three times) and have appeared in the most grand finals (four times). However, after this year’s performance the side and fans will be stuck reminiscing about the good old days.
The 2020/21 season has not been kind for the Melbourne side who sit in last place after suffering humiliating defeats which included 7-0 and 6-0 losses to rival club Melbourne City.

Western United
It was looking good early in the season for Western United but it turned into a horror show, which not many people are talking about.
The club is into its second season in the A-League and were good enough to play finals in their first year but they have been brought back to reality after this year’s campaign.
@matthewt42 Terry at it again #fyp #dogsoftiktok #foryou #4thOfJuly #fireworks #puppy #lol
Newcastle Jets
Newcastle Jets sit at the bottom end of the table again, in second last, after what has been a disappointing season for the club.
A significant rebuild will be needed to fix this club which has struggled both financially and result wise after the last couple of seasons.
@yoteach42 Quarantine shenanigans fail @amykleinsmith #fyp #quarantineshenanigans #shesok #wearestilllaughing #beerbasketballchallenge #mypoormom
Wellington Phoenix
Despite fighting hard till the very end, Wellington Phoenix just missed out on finals after Adelaide won their match against Western Sydney Wanderers on Thursday night.
It is a disappointing way to end the season for Wellington, who have come so close once again.
@sprinklespeckle Reply to @shirodoshi best comment. Thanks. #veryemotional #neverletgo #HowTo #skillbuilding #lol #notforyou #notfyp @hueyhancock
Perth Glory
The Perth Glory were on fire in the first few rounds averaging more than three goals in every game they played.
However, the coronavirus outbreak in Perth halted their season in its tracks and they have not been able to find their rhythm since.

Central Coast Mariners
Central Coast Mariners were at the top of the ladder in April but now find themselves struggling at the pointy end of the season.
Will the slide continue during the finals series?
@tobiasrysstad What?!🤣 #foryoupage #fyp #foryou #tiktok
Macarthur FC
The new kids on the block have been quick to establish themselves as contenders and will play their first ever finals series this year.
Despite having the occasional poor performance, Macarthur fans will be pleased with their side’s overall performance in what has been a tight competition.

Adelaide United
Carl Veart’s Adelaide United side made finals despite having some defensive frailties this year, conceding a whopping 41 goals.
It has been a tough watch at times for Adelaide fans, but they have trusted the process and kept the faith.
