A heated affair between Glory and Jets sees them share the points in Perth

Coming off the back of two wins, Newcastle Jets were held to a 0-0 draw as a young Perth Glory side put the visitors to work on Wednesday night.

An early error from Glory’s backline allowed Beka Mikeltadze to intercept a pass which created an open goal and a clear-cut chance, however the Jets’ top scorer missed by a landslide.

It was Jets skipper, Matthew Jurman, who was the first to be booked in the 34rd minute following an agricultural challenge on Ciaran Bramwell.

The visitors dominated possession which saw Glory playing a deep defensive game as the likes of Daniel Penha and Mikeltadze made countless efforts to try and break through Glory’s bus.

The Jets continued to put their energy into an attacking game, in the 42nd minute Dane Ingham thread in a ball through to Lucas Mauragis who sent it above the bar, keeping it scoreless from both sides in the first half.

Archie Goodwin, who carried the Jets to a win against Sydney FC, replaced Olivier Boumal to kick off the second half.

After five minutes into the second, Jack Duncan made the save of the game after he got hands to the ball only for it to freakishly rebound off the post with enough momentum to stay off the line and deny a breakthrough to Glory.

The home side then made their first substitution, as Ciaran Bramwell made way for debutant Trent Ostler.

Penha talked his way into a yellow card in the 73rd minute, following a plea with the officials to make the call against Perth Glory for a hand ball call.

Two minutes into extra time, Penha left his side to play with 10 men after an illegal foul on Giordano Colli.

The first-half belonged to Jets and Glory reclaimed it in the second, but a dramatic end left the sides with one common ground; one point apiece.
