In what looked like a clean bump from Glory’s Ella Mastrantonio in the 68th minute, Gordon went down in pain gripping her right shoulder.

The 25-year-old attempted to turn around Mastrantonio after receiving the ball from defender Angelique Hristodoulou, but subsequently fell awkwardly, dislocating her right shoulder.

After several minutes, the away side carried on with a free-kick and Gordon was replaced by Jitka Chlastáková as the Wanderers continued to look for an equaliser.

Head coach Kat Smith reassured fans Gordon was doing well and was a strong squad member, especially after refusing the pain relief offered.

“She’s good now, she did have I think a dislocated shoulder. It’s been put back into place but obviously she’ll be quite sore and we’ll make sure she gets the best care while she’s here and we’ll get her home safely,” Smith said.

“Players like Beth Gordon have a very high pain tolerance so look when a player comes off and denies to have the green whistle, you know they are tough and strong.

The Wanderers face Canberra United on Sunday and will be hoping to take advantage of the Australian capital side’s three-point deduction after making an invalid substitution in their match against Sydney FC over the weekend.
