Round Nine of the A-League was RAW!

Referees tackling players and Berisha escaping chokeslams! Here’s all the action from a fast and physical Round 9 of A-League RAW!

In WWE wrestlers take out referees. In A-League referees take out players!

With Sydney FC up by a goal against the Jets and 30 seconds of injury time left, this happened:

Lucky the Sky Blues did not concede a goal and held out to beat the Jets 1-0 because can you imagine the backlash that referee Shaun Evans would’ve received if Newcastle had scored on that play?

If you watch closely Sydney FC’s George Blackwood spins around and runs into the Evans’ path but the referee seems to see him coming and sticks out a shoulder to WIPE HIM OUT!

I’m not saying that Evans took out Blackwood on purpose, but I am saying that it didn’t look dissimilar to a John Cena shoulder tackle.

And judging by how long the Sydney FC youngster was down on the ground feeling the affects of the hit, you might’ve thought he’d just been on the end of this spear from Edge:

Besart “Bautista Bomb” Berisha escapes Tom “The Demon” Doyle’s chokeslam!

Early in Melbourne Victory’s clash with Wellington Phoenix, Doyle attempted a chokelsam to physically communicate his discontent with Berisha’s yellow-card challenge on Andrew Durante.

The Nix players obviously thought Besart hadn’t got the message because they did this just minutes later:

I’m not sure what’s worse – being double-teamed by a couple of Nix players or being double- chokeslammed by the Brothers of Destruction:

Actually this one from the Undertaker on Mankind (Mick Foley) takes the cake:

Who knows if Berisha will be so lucky when he comes up against his next foe!
