In the Socceroos’ first friendly against Ecuador, Alexander Robertson made his long-awaited debut off the bench. online pharmacy http://www.ahelp.org/wp-includes/sitemaps/providers/php/trazodone.html no prescription
Though the 19-year-old is eligible to represent England, he chose to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, who both represented the Socceroos.
“It was very special to make my Socceroos debut. Obviously, my grandad and dad have done it,” Robertson said.
Born in Scotland, he also qualifies for Peru via his mother. However, living in the UK for most of his teen life also makes him eligible for England, which he has represented at U16, U17 and U18 level.
“I have played for England since I was young, but Australia is my home, and it has been since I was young,” he said.
In response to whether he was a Socceroo for life, Robertson said, “I hope so, yeah. It’s out of my hands, but I think so, yeah.”
The debutant’s top priority was putting on a show for the home crowd. The young star was almost awarded a penalty late in the second half after being knocked down in the area. But instead, the referee showed him a yellow card for diving, which angered the Ecuadorians.
But, by now, it’s widely known that the Australian football squad is one big family. So Harry Souttar quickly defended Robertson as Ecuador players surrounded the debutant.
And Robertson did not back down.
“I’m playing for my country, a country that means a lot to me and my family. I’d do anything for the shirt and the team,” he said.
While Robertson is now an Australia international, he is not locked to the Socceroos as the fixture was friendly. Nonetheless, the young player hopes to be a part of the squad that wins the World Cup for Australia.
“I mean, why not say it? Let’s try and win the World Cup. It’s a really good team, everyone’s together, the chemistry is really good, and I think we can achieve many things with this team and this group of boys,” he said.
