Confidence is so high on the Central Coast that Alen Stajcic believes his side has the quality to match it with anyone in the league right now.
Stajcic believes his team has put in the hard work and they are seeing that hard work rewarded with success on the pitch after their 2-0 win against Western Sydney Wanderers.
“Attaching winning to that hard work is something you can’t replace and that’s really bred the belief and confidence we now have,” Stajcic said.
Confidence and belief seem to be at the core of the success and while Stajcic wants to take it one game at a time, he said they could beat anyone.
“We now know that if we play at our best we can compete and beat anyone,” he said.
Stajcic credited Matt Simon as a key part of the rising confidence of the squad, with the striker contributing both on and off the pitch.
“He’s been an incredible for us off the pitch over the last 18 months, especially during the COVID break, he really stood up and represented the players and team in a positive way,” Stajcic said.
It seems winning has become part of the process on the coast and with that confidence and belief at all time highs, it is going to be a tough job for any team to knock off the Mariners.
