With COVID-19 rampant in New South Wales, growing in Victoria, and the chance of spreading further interstate, should the A-League postpone the start of the new A-League season?
Before we dive into that, what are the A-League’s options? Realistically, there are two ways to progress:
Option 1: Postpone the season start at the risk of broadcast uproar
Option 2: Keep the season start date but create a ‘hub’ system
Without knowing all the gritty details of the new broadcast deal, it would be safe to assume that the new season beginning in October was part of the broadcast agreement with Channel 10/Paramount Plus.
Any move away from this agreement and the broadcasting partners might have preferred they threw their money at the best online casino.
If the A-League did decide to go ahead with the current October 29 start date, they may be forced to re-introduce a hub system: likely in Queensland as a Perth hub wouldn’t be kind to broadcasting and fan arrangements simultaneously.
Adelaide and South Australia could be another option, but the odds seem about as likely as getting the jackpot with online casino sa.
With the majority of the A-League teams based in NSW and Victoria, the A-League certainly has a tough decision on their hands.
No doubt, these conversations have been ongoing for some time now, with the APL monitoring the case numbers with a close and watchful eye.
Their decision will need to come relatively soon, though, as the A-League season is fast approaching.
