If you are still tossing up whether to grab some tickets, here are five reasons why you should get online and get in early to secure your seat to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

1. See the best players in the world showcase their talent

Sam Kerr, Alex Morgan, Vivianne Miedema. These are just some of the names of the world’s greatest players that will be on our shores starting from July 2023. These players play in some of Europe’s top leagues, which unfortunately means that it can be hard to regularly watch and admire their skills.

But come July next year they will all be Down Under trying to get their hands on the trophy. It’s the best opportunity you’ll have to witness some footballing magic from these superstars.

2. Support the Matildas

With the Matildas coming off a resounding 4-0 win over world number two Sweden in November, confidence will undoubtedly be running high for the Aussies heading into a home World Cup.

In football, the fans are everything, and home supporters help provide a massive advantage when playing in competitive matches, so the Matildas will be hoping that stadiums will be packed full of green and gold to help give them an edge in attempting to win their first ever World Cup.

3. Be a part of history

For the first time, Australia and New Zealand will host an international football tournament. If you have been on the fence about supporting women’s football, or just football in general, now is the perfect time to jump on the bandwagon.

World Cups always bring millions of people from all around the world to the host country. These fans bring an atmosphere that is unparalleled in any international sport. Now is the time to be part of history that will give you memories that will last a lifetime.

4. Help grow the game

Even though football is the most played sport in the country, Australia has always struggled to become a powerhouse nation on a professional level.

With the World Cup being in Australia in 2023, Football Australia has an important opportunity to attempt to benefit from the eyes and ears that are going to be on the World Cup.

So, it is important that everyone either attends or watches this World Cup so they have evidence that professional football can be supported in this country.

5. Show the other codes who’s boss

Football is the greatest sport in the world. We all know this; however it has never been able to get out from underneath the dominance of other sporting leagues in Australia, most notably the AFL and the NRL.

Since the Women’s World Cup will be played during the AFL and the NRL seasons, football can dominate the sports news media cycle due to the number of international media that will be in the country.

This means that young girls and boys will be able to see why football is the most played sport in the world and what opportunities may lie ahead.

This is an amazing moment for Football Australia and hopefully they seize this and will be able to convince and attract this demographic to start kicking the round ball around rather than that egg shaped one.
