A match that had the potential to be a goal fest with the likes of Matt Derbyshire and Jamie Maclaren, ended in a 1-1 draw with both Macarthur FC and Melbourne City struggling to find the back of the net.
City started off their attacking campaign strong and almost scored a goal in the 5th minute from a corner, but the header went wide.
Derbyshire was through on goal and hit the post, however he was called offside in the 6th minute.
Leading goal scorer Maclaren had a shot on goal catching Adam Federici off guard only to drift wide from the target in the 11th minute.
Maclaren had a golden opportunity with a volley to make it 1-0 for City when he was unmarked in front of goal, but his effort went wide in the 19th minute.
Lachlan Rose had a volley outside the box in the 36th minute only for it to go over the bar.
Both sides were trying to create chances in the first half, however each team’s defence were making it difficult to get a shot off on target.
Mark Milligan was saved by the linesman, after his own goal did not count because City were called offside in the 51st minute.
City had a good chance to open the scoring in the 56th minute when Connor Metcalfe was one-on-one with the keeper but Federici pulled off the save.
However, City eventually opened the scoring when Craig Noone’s cross found Metcalfe and he slotted it past the keeper in the 59th minute.
Loic Puyo had the chance to score the equaliser as his lobbing header went over Thomas Glover, but wide from goal in the 64th minute.
Moments after, at the other end, Federici denied City from scoring their second of the night.
The Bulls found the equaliser in the 78th minute through substitute Michael Ruhs, who drove his shot low and hard past Glover.
The Bulls had a number of chances after their goal but were not able to find the final product.
Rose came close to putting the Bulls in front in the 86th minute when he took a shot inside the penalty box but he sent it wide.
Metcalfe had the chance to add a second to his name in the dying minute of the match, when he took a shot from outside the box but it came off the crossbar.
