The Irish striker was quick to fire, sealing the opener in the 5th minute of the match, with a header to finish a low cross from Kosuke Ota.

His second goal was no surprise to all, booting the ball from 40 metres out in the 24th minute to have it swiftly bounce past Wanders keeper Daniel Margush and into the net.

But it was his third goal that pushed the side ahead, a rocket penalty in the 65th minute had fans cheering as he recorded a hat-trick.

Head coach Richard Garcia said he was glad it was finally Keogh’s time to shine.

“Andy has had a tough season of probably not scoring and he’s done a lot of the other work that you probably don’t get a lot of credit for, like he’s had a lot of assists but tonight was his night,” he said.

“It’s great to see a lot of the guys get behind him and celebrate with him, especially now that he is a year older, but look it’s fantastic that we have that belief that it’s not about the individual, it’s about the collective and that’s the biggest thing.

“I think it’s his [Keogh’s] birthday on Wednesday and then next Sunday as well hopefully.”

The now 35-year-old finished his stellar performance with a fourth score in the 72nd minute. The striker stood point blank at the back post to receive a deflected cross from Chris Ikonomidis and seal the deal.

The 5-1 win marks the trifecta for Glory after a dry run in the middle of the season.

Garcia said he was pleased the squad’s mental strength and persistence was paying off and hoped to see it continue.

“All credit to these guys all the mental strength they’ve shown and having to put up with the season they’ve had and know that mental strength is starting to show especially now that we’re at home with the home crowd behind us,” he said.

“It’s about belief, belief in what we’re doing, belief in themselves and belief in each other.
