A tumultuous week at Brisbane Roar has ultimately galvanised the young side, who broke a winless drought on Sunday against Perth Glory. buy filitra online buy filitra online no prescription
The 2-1 victory at Kayo Stadium in Redcliffe was the first match for new coach, Englishman Nick Green.
Losing previous, long-time manager Warren Moon during the week was compounded by the losses of experienced pair Scott Neville and Jay O’Shea to injury, not that it seemed to matter.
“It’s been a tough week for the boys and to come through like that shows character,” Green said post-game.
Brisbane played with the style of a team who had perhaps been liberated from the burden of having a coach under pressure.
The home side found themselves in a very rare position, leading at the main break having scored multiple goals in a single half.
It reflected the mindset of a team with little to lose, said Green.
“We’re like the walking wounded at the moment and after the adversity that’s gone on this week, being bottom of the league, the only way is up for us at the moment,” he said.
Green has instilled his focus areas in his first week on the job, which largely revolve around the attacking elements of the game.
This philosophy paid dividends on Sunday afternoon, with Henry Hore showcasing his striking ability and even captain Thomas Aldred getting on the scoresheet with an aggressive header.
“We want goals, if you don’t score goals you don’t win games so it’s been an area we’ve looked at all week,” Green said post-match.
“We want to let the shackles off a little bit, engage teams higher, cause teams problems and stop worrying about the opposition.”
